Welcome!
Several scenarios are presented below. In the first section, answer to the in sentence form explaining what you would do. In the second section, simple yes or no answers will suffice. When you finish the test, leave a message on my talk page indicating you did, so I can analyze your test, I will leave a message on your talk page indicating that is completed, returning to this page will show you the analysis, complete with your answers.

Section 1
1. An IP blanks the main page and replaces it with "code snippets is teh sukz lol", but didn't do anything else. What do you do, as an administrator?
I would revert the page and add it to my watch list, and see if it happened again.
In addition, you should block the user, in this case, probably for around a week, but in other cases, longer or shorter depending on the severity of the vandalism.
2. An IP blanks several user pages, replacing each with "Suck my dick!". What do you do?
I would block the IP. I don't believe that its effective to put warnings on IP userpages.
Yes, in this case, you would block, for about a month.
3. An IP leaves several spam messages on the page C plus plus. What do you do?
I would revert the page, and see if the IP kept attempting to put spam on the page. If the IP continued to spam, I'd block it.
Essentially correct. In this case, you would warn the user on leaving the first spam message (yes, warn, even though you don't think it is worth it). After that, block, for around one month, longer for repeat offenses.
4. An IP leaves spam messages on 30 pages on the wiki, including user talk pages. What do you do?
I would go through and revert the pages back to their original form, and block the IP.
Correct. The block length in this case should be around 4 to 6 months, generally depending on the messages' nature.
5. Let's say you blocked the IP in question one (note: this may or may not be the correct answer), and his/her/its block subsequently expires after some time, and he starts mass vandalism across the wiki. What do you do?
I would block it again, possibly extending the length of the block.
Correct
6. Two people are edit warring over the content of the page, which is about the TI-BASIC programming language, something you (at least for this scenario) don't know anything about. What do you do?
I would direct the people to hash out their differences on the talk page. If they continued to edit-war, I'd probably lock the page (assuming its in a coherent state), and place a message at the top saying that the content of the page is disputed, directing people to the talk page for updates. If at some later point consensus emerges, I'd remove the lock and make sure that the page was changed to reflect the consensus.
Correct, however, you would probably protect the page and direct people to the talk page as your first action.
7. An IP leaves racist remarks on a user's talk page. What do you do?
I would remove the remarks and leave a message on the page indicating my actions.
I quote GPT for what you should do: "Revert their edit and block them for six months if it's their first edit, yell at 'em and cooldown block for a day if they're usually good users, something in between if they're something in between."
8. You notice that the page about Logos is being heavily vandalized by IPs over a period of time, but you notice no vandalism from registered users. What do you do?
I would keep the page from being edited by people that aren't logged in.
You should also block the IPs, these periods are usually 1 to 2 weeks for new users, longer for repeat cases.
9. Let's say you blocked the IPs who were vandalizing the page in scenario 8, but do not protect the page at all (again, this may or may not be the correct response). Now, newly registered accounts are vandalizing the same page. What do you do?
I would have to block the accounts that are vandalizing the page.
In addition, you should fully protect the page.
10. You notice an IP constantly spamming a wiki, even after being warned several times, and after being recently blocked for one month (again, this may or may not be the correct answer to any of the questions above). What do you do?
I would probably block the IP for an even longer time (perhaps a year or so). If the IP still kept editing after that time, I'd block it indefinitely.
Only quip: NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BLOCK AN IP INDEFINITELY, the longest allowable block on an IP here is one year.
11. You notice an IP make its first edits to the wiki, spamming massive numbers of pages with spam links. What do you do?
I would immediately block the IP and set about reverting the pages. An IP dropping massive amounts of spam links has all the characteristics of a bot, and therefore should be acted against quickly and decisively.
Correct, note: the block length in this case should be precisely 6 months, extra credit for identifying that the user may be a bot.
12. Now, let's say that people are edit warring on Hex Triplet Colors, something that you know almost by heart (at least, for this scenario). What do you do?
I would do the same thing as with the TI-BASIC example, but I would also participate in the decision on the talk page.
I assume you will also follow my notes on that question, just protect the page with the correct version.
Section 2
For section 2, you are presented with scenarios where you decide whether to delete it, keep it, or nominate it for a deletion debate. Your answers should take this form: "D" for delete, "K" for keep, and "N" for nominate for deletion debate. In addition, place an "S" after the D if you also protect the page from recreation, SALTING, a description of which can be found here. Note: This is only delete or not delete, don't worry about blocking the user in question.
1. Someone creates a page with the letter "s" on it, and the page is titled "s".
D
Correct
2. Someone creates a page with vandalism on it, with an obscene title.
D
Correct
3. Someone proceeds to recreate the page from question 2 above. You delete. He/she/it recreates. What do you do now, after he/she/it recreated it?
DS
Correct
4. Someone created a page that has content on it, but not a lot of content.
K
Correct
5. A page appears to be fake, meaning, a programming language that dosen't exist or a page only with misleading instructions.
N
Correct
6. Someone creates a page that does not pertain to the wiki, such as a page about Halo.
D
Correct
Analysis
Good job! Other that being a little off on blocks and protection, you have got everything down!
Final Verdict
9.0 / 10 + .5 extra credit 9.5 / 10
